Between Two Pessary Sizes? Combo Pack vs 3-Size Fitting Pack vs a Single Device
Share
If you are between two pessary sizes, you have three simple choices: buy a single pessary in the size you think is most likely, buy a 2-size Combo Pack, or buy a 3-size Fitting Pack. The best choice depends on how sure you are about your size. If your doctor gave you an exact size, a single is enough. If you know it is one of two sizes, the Combo Pack is usually the best value. If you are less sure, the Fitting Pack gives you the most room to get it right.
This guide explains each option in plain language so you can pick with confidence. It is not medical advice. Your doctor or nurse is the best person to help you choose a size and type.
First, a few words about "being between sizes"
Ring pessaries come in numbered sizes. Each number is a little larger than the one before. It is very common to fall between two of them. Your body can also change over time. Weight change, pelvic floor therapy, hormone treatment or surgery can all mean a different size later on.
So being "between sizes" is normal. It simply means you may need to try more than one before you know which feels best. Our article What 1,800+ Real Pessary Fittings Tell Us About Sizing talks more about how sizing works in real life.
Option 1: A single pessary
A single ring pessary is one device in one size.
A single is a good fit when:
- Your doctor or nurse has told you your exact size
- You have used a pessary before and are reordering the same size
- You want a spare in a size you already know works
Things to keep in mind:
- If you are truly unsure between two sizes, you are making a guess.
- If the size is wrong, you will need to exchange it, which takes time.
Option 2: The 2-Size Combo Pack
The Pessary Fitting Combo gives you two sizes in a row, side by side, for example sizes 3 and 4. Each pessary is new, factory-sealed and in its own pouch. This article focuses on the With Support version, which has a thin membrane across the ring for extra bladder support. A Without Support combo is also available.
Size pairs you can choose
| Size pair | Who it usually suits |
|---|---|
| 2 + 3 | Smaller than average |
| 3 + 4 | Most common range |
| 4 + 5 | Most common range |
| 5 + 6 | Larger than average |
| 6 + 7 | Larger than average |
The sizes 3 + 4 and 4 + 5 pairs together cover about 70% of US patients.
The Combo Pack is a good fit when:
- You know you are between two specific sizes
- You are a first-time buyer and your clinician has narrowed it down to two
- You are being re-fitted after weight change, therapy or surgery
- You and your clinician are doing a fitting by video
Why it is good value
The Combo Pack costs $89.99. Buying the same two sizes as separate singles would cost $99.98, so you save about 10%. You also end up with a spare. Many women keep the second size for later, since sizes can change over time.
What if neither size fits?
You can return the unopened pack within 30 days for a free size exchange. If you have already opened a pouch and neither size feels right, please email us so we can talk through your options.
For a full guide to the combo itself, see our Pessary Fitting Combo 2026 Guide for First-Time Buyers.
Option 3: The 3-Size Fitting Pack
The Fitting Pack gives you three sizes in a row, such as 3, 4 and 5. Each one comes in its own sealed, sterile pouch. You can see and feel the sizes through the pouches before you open anything.
Here is how it works. You open only the size you want to try, usually the middle one. If it fits, you send back the other two unopened pouches within 30 days for a partial refund, so your final cost works out about the same as one single pessary. Return shipping is paid by the buyer. The product page shows the current price and refund amount.
The Fitting Pack is a good fit when:
- You are not sure whether you are a size smaller, the same, or larger
- You are a first-time user without a clinical fitting
- You want the option of a refund on the sizes you do not use
Things to keep in mind:
- It costs more upfront than the Combo Pack.
- The refund only applies to pouches that have never been opened.
- You need to post the unused pouches back within 30 days.
Side-by-side comparison

A simple way to decide
- Did your doctor give you an exact size? Choose a single in that size.
- Did they say "probably a 3 or a 4" (or any two sizes)? Choose the Combo Pack with those two sizes.
- Are you unsure, or has nobody fitted you yet? Choose the Fitting Pack with your likely size in the middle, and ideally see a clinician too.
Whichever you choose, wear the pessary for a few days of normal activity before deciding, as your clinician advises. A good fit stays in place and feels comfortable. If you have pain, bleeding, or trouble passing urine or having a bowel movement, call your doctor or nurse.
