What speculums does it use?
Standard Welch Allyn KleenSpec disposable specula (2.75mm, 4.25mm, and pediatric sizes). Reusable specula also fit. Not included with the otoscope — order separately.
Is it rechargeable?
No — the 22860 uses a AA-battery handle (non-rechargeable). If you need a rechargeable pocket otoscope, contact us for the Welch Allyn 3.5V rechargeable options.
How does this compare to the Welch Allyn 3.5V PocketScope?
The 22860 is 2.5V with LED — lighter, less expensive, no charger needed, ideal for pocket / bedside use. The 3.5V rechargeable line has slightly brighter output and a rechargeable Li-ion handle — better for high-volume clinics that want a fixed exam room setup. For most primary care use, the 22860 is the right choice.
