The Royal Air Force (RAF) Near Point Ruler is a 50 cm binocular gauge for measuring near point of convergence (NPC), accommodation, and master eye determination in 1 mm increments. The slider holds a rotating four-sided cube with different fixation targets on each face; the integrated cheek rest ensures consistent patient positioning between measurements. Studies show greater consistency of NPC measurements with the RAF Rule than with pencil or fingertip targets.
