Manufacturers previously advised against silicone lube on silicone pessaries, but current evidence + real-world use confirms medical-grade cured silicone (which pessaries are made from) is chemically stable and NOT degraded by silicone-based personal lubes. Your pessary will last just as long. NOTE: silicone lube CAN degrade uncured silicone sex toys — that's a separate case.
Silicone vs water-based lube — which is better?
Silicone (this product): long-lasting (20-60 min without reapplication), water-resistant (works in shower/bath), doesn't feed yeast. Best for menopausal dryness + pessary insertion + longer intimate sessions. Water-based: shorter duration (needs reapplication), safe with silicone toys, easy cleanup with water, some brands contain glycerin (which feeds yeast). Any interaction with vaginal estrogen cream?
Wait 15-30 min after applying vaginal estrogen cream before using silicone lube — allow the estrogen to fully absorb into vaginal tissue first.
