Frequently asked questions
Does this lens require coupling gel?
No. The no-flange (nf) design contacts the cornea directly without a gel interface — one of the main reasons Sussman-style lenses became the routine gonioscopy tool. If you specifically need a flanged Zeiss-style lens or a lens rated for laser treatment, contact us for the flanged variant.
Is this rated for SLT or YAG laser gonioscopy?
No — the no-flange version is diagnostic only. Laser gonioscopy requires the flanged Sussman or a Zeiss-style laser gonio lens. Email us if you need the laser-rated version.
How do I sterilize it between patients?
Wipe the contact surface with alcohol or an approved lens disinfectant (per your practice protocol). Do NOT autoclave the glass optics — heat sterilization damages the anti-reflective coating.
Does it come with a case?
Yes — the lens ships in a protective foam-lined case.
Can I use this for indentation gonioscopy?
Yes. The small contact footprint of the 4-mirror Sussman design is specifically what makes indentation possible — this is the standard lens for that technique.
