4-Stroke Diesel Engine Cut Section Model, Water-Cooled, Fuel Injection
No se pudo cargar la disponibilidad de retiro
Cut sectional teaching model of a single-cylinder 4-stroke water-cooled diesel engine, demonstrates the diesel cycle mechanics, fuel injection system, hot-coil starting device visible in metal and plastic construction. Shows all 4 strokes of diesel operation: intake (air only, no fuel), compression (high compression ratio for auto-ignition), power (fuel injected at TDC, ignites from heat of compression), exhaust. Water-cooling jacket visible. Fuel injector and hot-coil pre-heat start visible. Mounted for tabletop demonstration. $349.99 direct.
What Students See in the Cutaway
- Cylinder and piston: high-compression-ratio design (16-22:1 typical vs 8-12:1 for petrol)
- Fuel injector: high-pressure nozzle at cylinder head
- Injection pump: precision fuel metering and timing
- Hot-coil starting device (glow plug): pre-heats combustion chamber for cold start
- Water cooling jacket: surrounds cylinder, connects to radiator (indicated)
- Crankshaft and connecting rod: power transmission
- Camshaft and valves: timing coordination
- Compression volume: small combustion chamber at TDC
Diesel Cycle Explanation
| Stroke | Diesel Process | Vs Petrol (Otto) |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Intake | Air only pulled in (no fuel yet) | Air and fuel mixture pulled in |
| 2. Compression | Air compressed 16-22× (temperature rises to 500°C+) | Mixture compressed 8-12× |
| 3. Power | Fuel injected at TDC → auto-ignites from heat | Spark plug ignites mixture |
| 4. Exhaust | Burnt gases expelled | Burnt gases expelled |

FAQ
What's the difference between 4-Stroke Diesel and 4-Stroke Petrol models?
Diesel: high compression ratio (16-22:1), fuel injected at TDC, auto-ignites from compression heat, glow plug for cold start, more efficient (30-45% thermal efficiency), higher torque at low RPM. Petrol: lower compression (8-12:1), fuel mixed with air before intake, spark plug ignition, no glow plug needed, less efficient (25-30%), higher power at high RPM. Both models teach 4-stroke cycle but different combustion physics.
Does this actually run?
No, cut sectional teaching model, not a functional engine. Students see internal components, fuel injection and glow plug clearly. For running diesel demos, look at running diesel trainer engines ($3K-$8K).
Is a schematic included?
Instructor's guide and P-V diagram card available on request. Component labels present on the model.
